Generally, concrete in a structure, cures at a much faster rate than concrete in a test cube. This is due to the much larger mass of the structure, and better hydration which aids curing. The rate at which the mass concrete (poured concrete at the construction site) cures is much faster than the rate at which the 'site casted' cube / cylinder cures! Advanced research findings has proved that it has many benefits for the construction industry. The method of estimating the concrete strengtth by knowing the temperature of the curing concrete is called "Maturity Method". Post-Tensioned Structures / Precasting industries:
The biggest economic savings of maturity testing for a contractor is realized in post tensioned structures / precasting industries as ZoneCure system could estimate and provide the strength achieved by the concrete poured which could be used how much sooner the forms could be stripped or post-tensioning can begin.Findings has shown that contractors could save at least one days wait for each pour.
